Happy Term 6!

Can you believe it? This is the last term of year 5 aleady!

It is important that you do some reading every night, sometimes as a ‘sharing’ experience with an adult. Reading should occur at least five times a week and you should be reading different types of books, both fiction and non-fiction. I am looking forward to reading you book reviews whenever you complete a book. To assist with the difficult task of choosing a new book, there is a recommended reading list for our year group. Come and find me if you need a copy of the list.

Please remember that we have PE on Mondays and Wednesdays (subject to change). It is essential that PE kits are in school for you to wear but remember that no watches or jewellery of any kind can be worn. You should be able to remove any jewellery independently. It is always a good idea to have a spare carrier bag in your PE kit bag in case you need to keep your muddy trainers away from the rest of your kit.

I am sure that most of you are excited about attending the Cricket Tournament, which will be on Saturday,  23 June at Dauntsey's School.

Please make sure to pick up your spelling homework each Friday and remember that the test will be on the following Friday. Please don’t forget to prepare for our weekly dictation exercise by practising the sentences at the back of your sheets.

Keep practising your times tables and division facts, also become very skilful at multiplying and dividing numbers by the powers of 10. It is good if your parents have time and can help you with your homework, however it will be important for you to do your homework independently as helps you to get prepared for secondary school.

Please, use our Mathletics online program daily- there are some specific assignments waiting for you!

If you have any questions, please come and see me.
