PSHE

The school curriculum aims to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and to prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.  We aim to promote their self-esteem and emotional well-being and to help them form and maintain worthwhile and satisfying relationships, based on respect for themselves and others.   PSHE enables our children to become healthy, independent and responsible member of society.  We provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society.  Our children are encouraged to develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to the life of the school and the wider community.

Our ever expanding wider provision of PSHE promotes opportunities to link British Values and Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural (SMSC) responsibilities. Along with our broad and balanced curriculum, there are overlaps with other subjects, for example Computing (E-safety), Science (recycling), PE (leading healthy active lives).
